# Create Preference

> Record a new preference / constraint for a thread.

Args:
    payload:   Preference title, optional subtitle, and kind ('hard'|'soft').
    user:      Authenticated owner.
    thread_id: Target conversation.
    db:        Database session.

Returns:
    The newly created ``PreferenceSchema``.
